Hotel Antico Doge - Venezia

Beautiful hotel! A five minute walk from the Rialto Bridge, this hotel has a location that can't be beat. With top service and comfort this hotel completed the unforgettable experience that is Venice.

TV turned on by itself a few times. Quite hot in the room. Very old and scary for a kid.

The room was large, comfortable and well equipped. The hotel does not waste space on large public rooms or other facilities that we did not need.

The breakfast area is quite small and there are not enough tables for all guests to eat simultaneously. We did not have a problem, but were aware of others having to wait for a table to come free.

One of my best hotel experiences. A dream scenery with original Venice decoration. The room was fantastic and the location was perfect, next to Rialto, very close to san Marko and the Vaporeto port for the railway station. We enjoyed staying in this hotel and definitely will stay there again!

The bathroom top was too short for me, but it was a jacuzzi so if you like this stuff you'll be thrilled.

I thought the decor in the hotel room was absolutely beautiful.

The duvet cover really needed to be cleaned.

My wife and I stayed at the Antico Doge for three nights during the Venice Carnival and we cannot recommend it too highly. The reception staff were very helpful, for the last evening they offered us a free upgrade into the Suite with a Balcony which was an amazing room with a four poster bed. Our first room was a Deluxe room with Canal view which was also excellent. Breakfast was included in the price and was good quality. Location was close to Rialto Bridge and only a 15 minute walk to St.Mark's square. We chose to use the Water Bus for the transfer from the Airport 27 euros each return. Might use a Water Taxi next time as they are quicker but this would depend on cost. Loved the decor, walls are covered with fabric rather than wallpaper polished wood floors and the rooms were very clean. It would have been nice to have Tea and Coffee in the room but this didn't detract from our stay in the slightest. You have to keep your eyes ope for the entrance as there is no

The room was pretty and the girl at the desk couldn't be more lovely.

The midnight curfew spoilt our evenings since we were told the door would be locked after that so we couldn't participate in any events further afield than easy walk/boat distance. The jaccuzzi was just a bath with air jets. There were no spare pillows, just one each on the bed. The breakfast fruit salad came straight from a tin. There was no kettle, tea/coffee in our room nor even complimentary water. The carpet was lethal sliding all over the floor. The canal was filled on both nights by young men racing boats, having loud water fights and singing loudly and badly.

Location was convenient and it was a very charming hotel. Room was larger than we expected and we had a room for 3 and it easily could have slept 4 due to a small side room with 2 single beds. Bathroom was big enough to have 2 people in it at the same time. Very clean and the staff and breakfast offerings were nice and more than adequate. We traveled to Paris, Florence and Rome and enjoyed Venice the most. It's a delightful and beautiful city unlike anywhere else. The hotel did not disappoint at all. If you stay for at least 3 nights you should consider the 72 hour vaporetto pass. It's expensive(35 e for over 30 travelers and less for students 22e). We used it a bunch for commute to train station, side trips to Murano, Burano, St. Gregory's and other travels on the canal. Still we walked very where, too. More fun than we ever expected.

Very pleasant staff. We were a family of 4 and had a duplex room which was great.(room 105)

There are no communal areas, just a small reception amd a small breakfast room. Nu loung/seating areas.

A wery nice hotel. Good location as a short trip of 5-10 minute will take you most places of Venice. Also very nice to have a city square just in front of the hotel.

It shuld not be neccessary to charge for use of Internet now a days. Espessially if one spends several hundreds of Euros a night for a room.

We loved our stay at the Antico Doge--our room was just as we imagined it to be, and was superb. Breakfast also was good and very well presented by the staff.

The only complaint we had was with the reception staff--they were not helpful at all. Perhaps they had too much to do--ie reception, phone and concierge services. We would definitely elect to stay at the Antico Doge again when next we visit Venice.

The location is excellent. The rooms are very ellegant. Breakfast and service were very good too.
